LG will launch warehouse robots to the US market at MODEX
Technology provider LG Business Solutions USA announced on Tuesday that it will launch its warehousing autonomous mobile robot (AMR) in the United States on Monday during MODEX, the industry trade show in Atlanta.
Its CLOi CarryBot series of robots will be introduced to the Asian market in 2022, including two products: the installation-type CLOi CarryBot and the Rolltainer-type CLoi CarryBot.
The racks equipped with the installation robot are available in two rack sizes to match the size of packages you want to move in your warehouse.
The Rolltainer model attaches to a large racking platform on wheels, providing more space to accommodate larger packages.
Both AMRs feature LCD touch screens, 18 hours of battery life and Wi-Fi connectivity, and use time-of-flight, camera, magnet and lidar technology for navigation. They also utilize material control systems for smart picking operations, fleet management systems for multi-AMR movement planning, and robot management systems for AMR status, system alerts, and productivity data analysis.
“LG CLOi robots have proven their navigation and automation capabilities in a variety of industries and environments,” said Tom Bingham, senior director of LG Business Solutions America.[The AMRs] Solving warehouse inefficiencies can begin immediately, providing on-time shipping and consistent, reliable operations that allow workers to stay in their zones and increase productivity. “
MODEX guests will also be able to see LG’s proprietary 5G technology in action. The network serves as the connectivity solution for all its AMRs, as new robotics technology requires a strong and stable network to achieve peak performance.
This isn’t the first technology to hit the U.S. this year. In January, the company began production of its first electric vehicle charging station in Fort Worth, Texas. At the grand opening of its first entry into the U.S. electric vehicle charging market, President Alec Jang emphasized LG’s transformation into a smart solutions company while accepting praise from Mayor Mattie Parker for establishing a base in Fort Worth. The plant will produce Level 2 and Level 3 electric vehicle chargers.
