X supports real-time video broadcasting in Spaces

X’s audio chat rooms (called Spaces) can now live stream video, but only to the person hosting the meeting.as edge According to reports, a Dogecoin designer release An official walkthrough of the feature on the platform formerly known as Twitter. Hosts can now choose whether to enable video and turn on the camera when creating a space. They can then broadcast in vertical or landscape orientation using the front or rear camera. We still haven’t seen an option to enable videos in Spaces on Android, but it’s reportedly available for iOS devices.

The platform already has a separate feature that allows users to play live videos, but the option isn’t as interactive as Space. In a Space meeting, participants can still speak or co-host, even if only the host can live stream the video.

Enabling video obviously introduces considerable latency to the chat session, and horizontal broadcasting makes it impossible to manage space because the video takes up the screen. Additionally, participants on the desktop will not be able to view the video. Mobile users who do watch the video will see an interface that highlights the host’s visual feed next to the participant’s user icon. Vergere says that videos only exist within chat sessions because they happen live and the user must join to see them, meaning the recorded space is still audio-only for now.
