Apple Vision Pro users must go to store to reset forgotten password

Can you imagine having to mail a $3,499 gadget because you forgot your assigned password? Customers who purchased the Apple Vision Pro may have to do this if they forget their password for the device.according to Bloomberg, the company has been telling buyers that the only way to reset the code is to go to an Apple Store or mail the mixed reality headset to AppleCare customer support. Apple will then reset their code so they can use their devices again.

as Bloomberg Please note that if a user enters the incorrect code multiple times, their device will be disabled and they must wait a period of time before trying again. If they still can’t recall the code after the waiting period, they’ll have to ask Apple to reset their code, and asking Apple to do so will delete everything on their headphones.

It’s worth noting that some users on Apple’s forums are still locked out even after entering the correct password – it’s unclear if this is a bug affecting certain devices – so this issue could happen to anyone. According to several other posts, Apple’s Genius Bar folks use an accessory called a “developer strap,” which the company sells to developers for $299, to connect the headphones to an iPad or laptop so they can re- Set it. In at least one instance, Apple geniuses reportedly failed to reset a user’s headset and had to replace it entirely.

The process of changing your headphone password could still change in the future—after all, the recently released Vision Pro is the first iteration of an entirely new product category. For the sake of those who have already purchased it, we hope it is introduced via a software update rather than as an improvement in the next version.
