This luxury tote is made from material used by NASA to collect comet dust

French luxury brand Coperni has launched the Air Swipe Bag, which is entirely made of NASA’s nanomaterial silica aerogel. fast company Report. The Air Swipe Bag weighs only 1.1 ounces, and only 0.2% of its mass is tangible. The rest is air moving through the aerogel’s trillions of channels. Although the airgel is only used to create a small bag, in this case, it is a sturdy accessory. The substance can hold up to 4,000 times its own weight (far more than this wallet can hold) and withstand temperatures up to 2,200 degrees Fahrenheit. So it’s no surprise that when aerogel isn’t being made into bags, it’s already being used for tasks like insulation for Mars rovers.

The Air Swipe Bag isn’t yet for sale on Coperni’s website, but if you want an accessory this powerful, it’ll probably cost you. Space travel and fashion are two things that never come cheap.
