LinkedIn now has a Wordle-style game you can play every day

LinkedIn, a professional network known for its job listings and unsolicited career advice, is getting into the game. A few weeks after the app’s launch, the platform officially launched a set of Wordle-style puzzle games.

The company started with three games: Pinpoint, a word game in which players must guess a theme that connects a series of words together; Queens, a puzzle game that’s sort of a cross between Sudoku and Minesweeper; and Crossclimb, a A trivia game where you need to guess a series of four-letter words and put them in the correct order.

LinkedIn describes them as “thinking-driven games,” although the format may feel familiar to fans New York Times Game Apps. Each game can only be played once per day, and players can share their scores with friends through messages filled with cute emojis, reminiscent of a “Wordle grid.” The service will also track “win streaks” to encourage players to come back every day. Given these similarities, it’s no surprise that the game is being developed by LinkedIn’s news team, which recently hired a dedicated games editor.

Games bring good news to people New York Times Since it acquired Wordle, other publications have tried to emulate the success with their own lines of word and puzzle games.I asked Dan Roth, LinkedIn’s editor-in-chief and vice president of product, whether the company had been affected by Wordle and New York Times Game Apps. He says the inspiration was actually much older: “the first crossword puzzle” new york world Newspapers from over 100 years ago. He added that there are currently no plans for a standalone gaming app.

“These games are designed for more than just playing,” Ross told Engadget. “We didn’t get into the game world just to get into the game world. The idea is that games help you think differently and connect with your network.
